TULSA - A three-year-old boy critically injured in an early-morning crash in north Tulsa has died.
Tulsa Police confirm the boy was pronounced dead about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, about 8 hours after the crash in which his mother rear-ended an Oklahoma Department of Transportation work truck at high speed.
The wreck occurred in the 4800 block of N. U.S. Highway 75.
Police say two workmen were standing next to the truck, and picking up trash bags in front of a mowing crew at the time.
The truck was legally parked on the shoulder, Cpl. J.D. Curran told KRMG at the scene, with its emergency lights activated.
Ofcr. Leland Ashley tells KRMG the mother says she doesn't remember the moments leading up to the crash, and the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
She and the two workers were all transported to the hospital but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
No names have been released.
