11-year-old gives birth, convicted felon may have more victims

A Tulsa man is convicted of having a baby with an 11-year-old girl and a KRMG investigation revealed it wasn't the first time.

The case started last spring when the girl complained of stomach pains.

That’s when a doctor figured out the girl was pregnant.

Detective Kathy Still says the girl told investigators that 40-year-old Eric Douglas Farbes Senior had been having sex with her for a year.

Part of the reason for not reporting the abuse to authorities is the girl has some developmental issues.

Still tells KRMG, “She could talk and all that, but she does have some learning issues. Didn’t really understand the full concept when she was diagnosed of being pregnant obviously. She described in detail a bunch of different incidents that happened.”

The girl also feared he would hurt her or her family.

“Did, during the course of my interview with him, admit to being accused of similar things involving two previous girls.”

Still says one of the other girls got pregnant too, but had a miscarriage.

That case never went to court.

Another case in Wagoner County involved a family member of the Tulsa victim.

The charges ended up getting lowered from a felony to a misdemeanor.

In the Tulsa case, Farbes was just ordered this week to serve two life sentences.

The baby was underweight when he was born, but Detective Still says at last check, the mother and baby were doing fine.

Police say a DNA test proved Farbes is the father of the victim's child.
