Woman records husband's death threats on her phone

If you're going to threaten somebody, it's probably a good idea to make sure their phone isn't recording the conversation.

A Bixby wife did just that on Monday, when her husband threatened to kill her.

Police say they responded to a call around 12:21 p.m., at a home near 131st and Memorial.

The wife told officers John Campbell had been threatening to kill her and she could prove the conversation.  She pulled out her phone and hit play.

"I'm gonna (cuss) murder you.  I'm going to have someone (cuss) put you in a ditch where you (cuss) belong."

The recording didn't end there.

"I'm gonna put you in a ditch where you (cuss) belong.  I'm gonna (cuss) your whole (cuss) life up.  I'm going to make sure you end up in a (cuss) ditch."

Officers then took Campbell into custody.

Police say once he was read his Miranda Rights, Campbell confessed to saying he was going to have somebody else kill her.  Campbell admitted to not being sure if he had said he would kill her himself.

Campbell was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.  He faces a count of threatening a violent act.
