"I cannot let a judge tell me how my daughter should be raised,” a note left by Megan Everett said.
Everett was worried her little-girl Lilly would be vaccinated and brainwashed while in preschool.
So she kidnapped her daughter in May, and the two haven’t been found.
In the message left behind Everett told Baumann, “we will miss you. But I had to leave."
Everett and the girl’s father Robert Baumann were not married but shared custody of the two-year-old.
Baumann told NBC Miami, he intended to have Lilly vaccinated but believes that wasn’t the only reason Everett left.
Lilly was taught about black history at school, Baumann claims Everett didn’t like that. "She just wanted her to learn about the Confederacy," he told the Orlando Sun Sentinel.
Everett's mother thinks there were other forces at work. She says her daughter had been seeing a man who is a "Confederate-flag-waving gun enthusiast."
That man, Carlos Lesters, took a picture of the child sitting close to ammunition boxes with a pacifier in her mouth.
It’s been reported Lesters told police Everett "knew she would have to live her life as a fugitive."
