Woman enters guilty plea in bizarre 'telepathic rape' case

Meloney and Michael Selleneit felt something was wrong.

They suspected that a neighbor was abusing Meloney but in a very strange way.

Meloney convinced her husband that Tony Pierce was “raping her telepathically."

Michael told Salt Lake City police Pierce was having “sex parties” with his wife and controlling her mind with crack cocaine.

So Meloney bought a gun and talked Michael into shooting Pierce while he was working in the yard.

Pierce survived the 2011 shooting and the Salt Lake Tribune reported both the Selleneits pleaded guilty.

But it took nearly two years for the system to decide how to proceed with charges against Meloney.

She spent months in a state mental hospital where it deemed she was not mentally competent to stand trial.

But in the last few weeks a judge reversed that ruling and she will face two second degree felonies, criminal solicitation and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.

Michael was already in a state mental institution and will serve two consecutive sentences of up to 15 years.
