A woman who was driving eastbound on 81st Street died after a southbound driver on New Sapulpa Road travelling at highway speeds hit her on the driver's side of her car.
The accident happened about 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
We're told a witness said that the woman had the green light to continue through the intersection when her car was hit.
Sapulpa Police Sergeant Troy Foreman says there was only one occupant of each vehicle that was involved in the crash.
"One of those occupants was killed in the collision. The other one was transported to a hospital and...was undergoing surgery for his injuries," Foreman said.
He says that what caused the crash is still under investigation.
"There's a possibility that disobeying a traffic control device is involved."
Foreman said the woman who died is from the Tulsa area.
