Woman accused of leaving young kids in hot apartment alone

A woman is taken into custody after three kids are found home alone in a hot apartment.

Tulsa police say Yomara Alvarado was arrested on three counts of child endangerment Tuesday evening.

The three children ages five, four and two, were found home alone at an apartment near 57th and Peoria.

Police say the children had opened 20 or more water bottles to dump on themselves to cool down.  There was no air conditioning.

Plus, there was no food in reach for the children.

Police say the children were taken into protective custody.

Alvarado remains in the Tulsa County Jail as of Wednesday morning.
