Tulsa, Okla. - That deadly wildfire in Guthrie means it would be a good idea for everyone to plan what to do in case of a wildfire.
Gerri Mullendore went through a huge wildfire in Choctaw in 2009 and was caught off guard at the time.
"We had a fire escape plan from our home, but you don't have a fire escape plan from your community," she said.
But that's just what the experts say you need to have, a meeting place for the family OUTSIDE of town.
And they say it's vital to practice the plan, because during an emergency, they say people tend to do what they've practiced, not what they've been told.
Last but not least, they say to have a "go bag" with all important medications, documents, etc. in case you need to leave in a hurry.
