I-44 widening project hurting businesses

Bad for business. That's what some businesses are saying about the I-44 widening project.

Parkhill Liquor sits at the corner of I-44 and Lewis.

This part of the project started a year ago and has hit the store in the cash register. Wine manager Milton Leiter says, "It certainly hasn't helped."

Leiter tells KRMG that loyal customers have helped. Leiter says, "I know its an inconvenience for customers but we've been here 50 years."

Leiter remains optimistic and sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Leiter says, "Wider streets, access road... It will be really easy to get here at that point."
