The rain finally arrived in Tulsa Friday morning after drenching Arkansas in the earlier morning hours.
News On 6 Meteorologist Travis Meyer says the Tulsa area will be in the driest part of the storm with heavier rain to our east.
He says, "We have bands of rain or light showers that will be mainly around the Tulsa area through mid-afternoon, but these will be fairly light."
Trav says we could be tricked into thinking that heavier rainfall has arrived in the Tulsa metro.
"It could dump brief downpours of heavy rain. We're not expecting to experience that too much today, but at least the temperatures will be pleasant."
Trav says the rain and cloud cover will keep us at a cooler temperature with the high in the lower 80's Friday and windy.
The chance for rain tonight decreases with a low of 73 degrees.
Trav says it’s too soon to tell how many inches will fall in Tulsa.
"Computer estimates right now are less than a quarter inch by the time we get through tonight."
Saturday the temperature start to heat up again with a high of 95 degrees.
The high for Labor Day is 100.
