Managers at the Walmart thought if opening at 8:00 pm Thanksgiving night would be good then opening at 7:00 PM would be even better.
Not so much.
There were 3,000 people in line when the doors flew open but instead of being grateful and orderly the crowds at the Rialto, California Supercenter began fighting and generally causing mayhem.
CBS LA talked to an officer who said "there were some tensions that flared up in reference to people cutting in lines."
The San Bernadino Sun reports that’s all it took for the fists to fly.
Other cops called it a “melee” and confirmed there were at least three major fights with one resulting in an officer suffering a broken wrist.
Everyone involved got to spend a little time in the slam but one man will stay longer.
He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after he was found kicking another man in the head outside the store.
