Viral meningitis reported, Okay Oklahoma, schools closed Monday

A case of viral meningitis is keeping Okay Schools in Wagoner County closed today.

A school employee came down with the disease last week.

We're told cleaning crews will disinfect the schools today.

Viral meningitis victims usually recover quickly.

Since viral meningitis is different from bacterial meningitis, there is no danger of the employee dying from exposure to the virus.

There were fatalities from bacterial meningitis in Oologah, Oklahoma, in 2010.
