VIDEO: Watch rescue as it happens of kids trapped by flash flood in Tulsa creek

Tulsa firefighters responded to a call of two children stuck on a concrete block amidst the rushing waters of Mingo Creek late Wednesday morning.

It happened just west of the I-44 and E. 21st Street junction about 11:30 a.m.

Firefighters tell KRMG that the two boys, one a young teen and the other a few years younger, were riding their bikes in the area when they were swept away.

They managed to scramble onto the concrete block between two piers of a bridge, and firefighters were able to wade into the creek to reach them.

That rescue happened just before noon. Police officers spoke with the older boy while the younger boy was tended to by EMSA paramedics.

KRMG had a reporter on the scene who captured the rescue as it happened.
