It's something Tulsa firefighters have never trained for... rescuing a horse trapped in a trench.
The Tulsa Fire Department's rescue task force was called to a field near Harvard and Apache late Monday evening.
Public Information Officer Stan May tells KRMG the rescue turned into a really good training exercise. May says, "It's not something we normally do but the training is invaluable. You get to put all of these skills to work in a situation that isn't scripted."
KRMG is happy to report the horse is doing just fine and was walking around after being pulled from the trench.
