A suspect stole an expensive drill from the back of a truck and takes off running Tuesday morning.
Tulsa police say they received the call around 10 a.m. in the area of 5th and Sheridan.
The suspect failed to take one thing into account.
Police say Alvin Bender didn't count on the victim and another witness chasing him down.
Bender was subdued by the victim until officers arrived to take him into custody.
Once in booking, Bender didn't make things easy for officers. Police say he began forcefully resisting arrest.
During the scuffle, an officer did receive a cut on his hand. Police say the officer did have to take appropriate precautions because Bender stated earlier he was HIV positive.
Bender is currently in the Tulsa County Jail.
