Veterans Day Run benefits Folds of Honor

The National Veterans Day Run, the largest annual race honoring military service men and women , and a run will be held in Owasso on November 11, 2013.

Runs will take place all across the United States.

The run has chosen the Folds of Honor Foundation as the beneficiary of the funds it plans to raise from the run.

The run will begin at Stone Canyon Elementary at 7:00 a.m., and the route goes through the Folds of Honor headquarters at the Patriot Golf Club.

The goal this year is to raise $200,000 for Folds of Honor.

The money will be used to fund scholarships for military families in local communities throughout the United States.

The race has three distances to choose from:  a timed 11K run, a timed 5K run, and a one mile family walk.

If someone doesn't want to walk or run, they can still participate by being a "supporter."

All veterans, any active-duty personnel and their families will receive discounted entries to the event.
