TULSA, Okla. - Four woman were shot to death early Monday afternoon in an apartment complex in south Tulsa, and police say they found a survivor at the crime scene -- a four-year-old boy.
Tuesday morning, Tulsa Police identified the women as 23-year-old Rebeika Powell, 23-year-old Kayetie Melchor, 33-year-old Misty Nunley and 55-y-ear-old Julie Jackson.
The call came in to the 911 center about 12:30 p.m. Police and emergency crews responded to Fairmont Terrace Apartments near E. 61st St. and S. Riverside Drive.
The caller had apparently spoken with someone in the apartment about an hour earlier, then went to check on the residents and instead discovered the crime scene.
Police Ofcr. Leland Ashley tells KRMG at the scene that early on, investigators have no witnesses and almost no information at all about the crime or any possible suspects.
"We don't have anything at this point, and that's why I'm asking that anyone with any least bit of information, I don't care how small it is, to give us a call."
He says the young boy was unharmed, but clearly traumatized.
The child was taken downtown to be interviewed by Child Crisis detectives with special training in forensic interviews of young children.
Tulsa Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
KRMG has a reporter on the scene and will continue to have live updates through the day on air and online.
