Update: Severe Thunderstorm Watch for northeast Oklahoma cancelled

Update

The National Weather Service has cancelled the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Tulsa, Creek, Osage, Washington and Pawnee counties.

The Watch was cancelled at 10:19 p.m. Thursday.

News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer tells us our chances of rain are pretty slim, other than a few sprinkles or showers as we go into the early morning hours.

Temperatures will be holding steady right around the mid 70's.

Look for one more hot day with highs reaching 93 to 94 and winds becoming northerly.

As we extend the forecast on into the weekend, look for highs in the 80's and nighttime lows in the 60's.

A Thunderstorm Warning is issued for Northeastern Tulsa County, as well as part of Creek, Osage, Pawnee and Washington until 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.

At 8:39, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Pawhuska to Blackburn to 19 miles west of Quay.
The storms were moving southeast at 45 m.p.h.
Wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour are likely five to 15 miles ahead of the rain.
The National Weather Service says the wind gusts will reach the Tulsa area between 9:15 and 9:30.
People outdoors should move inside into a sturdy building.
Stay away from windows and doors until the storm has passed.
