TULSA, Okla. - Update
Tulsa Police have taken 32-year-old Elbert Hendrickson into custody for his part in the robbery at the Georgetown Motel at 8502 East 27th Street on Thursday.
Investigators tell KRMG that Hendrickson unintentionally shot his accomplice, 35-year old Aaron Warner, who died later at a Tulsa hospital.
Police tell us Hendrickson's gunfire struck Warner who was fighting with the robbery victim outside of the motel.
Officers are working a possible homicide in east Tulsa.
Investigators tell KRMG that the homicide began as an armed robbery near I-44 and Memorial around 8 a.m. Thursday.
Two men went to rob another man who was at a motel.
A struggle ensued and one of the would-be robbers was shot.
Officers then received a call to assist EMSA around 8:30 a.m. in the area of 11th and I-44.
The victim's girlfriend tried to transport him to a hospital, but pulled over near Academy Sports + Outdoors near 41st and I-44 to wait for EMSA.
Police say the man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
