Update: OHP releases name of pilot involved in plane crash

Update:  We now know the name of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol pilot involved in a Friday afternoon plane crash.

OHP say trooper Dennis Dickens remains in serious, but stable condition after being found next to a burning plane.

Dickens was searching for a hit-and-run driver when the plane crashed.

Original story:  An Oklahoma Highway Patrol pilot is hospitalized with serious injuries after a Friday evening crash about three miles West of Tecumseh.

OHP say the pilot was assisting on finding an injured driver from a car accident on Highway 9.  It's believed the pilot found the driver and was flying close to the ground.

This is when the plane's engine stalled OHP say.

The pilot was found next to the plane, which had caught fire.

OHP say the motorist was also found.

The name of the pilot hasn't been released.
