BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - St. John Broken Arrow is discontinuing operations and moving all patients because of the boil order in effect.
The decision came down around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.
St. John Broken Arrow confirms that patients and staff have been utilizing bottled water and a backup water supply as a preventative measure.
Until the situation is resolved, patients currently receiving care at St. John Broken Arrow will be transferred to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and St. John Owasso.
As of 2:45 P.M., St. John Broken Arrow was able to discharge some of its patients and transferred approximately 13 individuals to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and St. John Owasso.
Shortly before noon Tuesday, a main water line feeding the city broke, causing city officials to order a water emergency.
Around 7 Tuesday evening, a boil order was issued as water levels became dangerously low.
Wednesday morning, the Tulsa Health Department ordered all Broken Arrow restaurants to close until the boil order ends and all items that come in contact with water can be sanitized.
