The story of a 12-year-old Oklahoma girl, who shot a home invasion suspect, has spread has sparked interest nationwide.
Now, KRMG has learned the suspect, 32-year-old Stacey Adam Jones has been charged with first degree burglary.
Last week the girl called the Bryan County sheriff's office and said she was home alone and hiding in her mother's closet because someone was trying to break into the house.
This was after she called her mother who told her to get the family gun.
Investigators say Jones got into the house and the girl, Kendra St. Clair, shot him through a door.
The suspect was caught when Durant police saw him running through a nearby field with blood on him.
He told officers he was shot inside the home where the girl was hiding.
The Durant Daily Democrat reports that Jones told police he'd been homeless for 10 days and was looking for food.
Police ruled the shooting was justifiable.
