UPDATE: Cops, State of Texas won't run Six Flags coaster death investigation

The death is regarded as accidental so the only in-depth investigation will be done by the theme park itself.

Six Flags over Texas promises they are "committed to determining the cause of this tragic accident and will utilize every resource throughout this process."

But Kenneth Martin isn't so sure. Martin is a roller coaster inspector and accident investigator, he told CBS 11 "in all likelihood, do you think Six Flags is going to come out and say, 'we screwed up'?"

Texas is one of several states without an official state agency to look into accidents like this and notes "quite frankly, Six Flags Over Texas is not required to do anything."

That doesn’t mean the incident won’t get further scrutiny. The German company that made the coasters cars, Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, will be on scene soon.

"We have to investigate what has happened there," they commented.

Rosy Esparza was killed on Friday night when a car on the Texas Giant roller coaster malfunctioned and she was thrown from the ride.
