AUGUSTA, Ga - The DMV told Alicia and Alicen Kennedy they couldn’t get learners permits because their computer system was having an issue.
The girls had no idea their faces were the problem.
“We gave her our paperwork, but we didn’t even get a chance to take the test,” Alicia told WJBF.
“I was listening to her conversation with the person on the phone, and it said that one of us popped up as a fraud,” Alicen noted.
The software used by the Georgia Department of Drivers Services continued to insist the photos were “one person instead of two different people."
State employees kept trying but to no avail. “The system just would not accept them,” the twin's mother Wanda noted.
The state says the error is unique and promises to fix it. They also pointed out there is a box on the permit letting them know the person applying is a twin.
“We don’t look exactly alike,” Alicia lamented. “You would think the computer would pick up somewhat of a difference, but it can’t tell us apart.”
