Tulsa Young professionals lobby for issues at state Capitol

Tulsa's Young Professionals, a division of the Tulsa Regional Chamber, sent a delegation of its members to Oklahoma City for its annual TyPros Day at the Capitol Tuesday.

The group met with state legislators and lobbied for issues important to their younger demographic. Some of the topics they brought up were education funding, the OKPOP museum and a rail system to run from Tulsa to OKC.

The TyPros heard from Representative T.W. Shanon, Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb, Oklahoma Secretary of State Chris Benge and other leaders from both the House and Senate.

Each member of the organization had detailed ideas of what they’d like to see happen right here in Oklahoma. While at the Capitol, they also got to what the legislative process happen right before their eyes as the day’s bills were being heard.
