Tulsa Police say reports of workplace shooting are false, suspect possibly on drugs

Tulsa Police say reports of an active shooter situation at an east Tulsa business are not true.

Officers are still investigating but tell KRMG that a suspect is possibly on drugs.

KRMG's Russell Mills was the first reporter on scene. He confirms that the suspect appeared to be on drugs and was hallucinating.

He burst into a hardware store, where owner Rick Wimpey said the man began yelling about masked men coming after him and shooting at him.

The man then went into an office and closed the door, at which point store employees called 911.

The suspect overturned a desk to barricade himself inside the office.

Police quickly determined there was no gunfire, and no other suspects involved.

"This is a good example of why people shouldn't do drugs," one of the officers commented to KRMG as the man was loaded into an ambulance.
