Several 911 calls kept Tulsa police officers busy early Wednesday, but some of the emergencies that were reported showed no evidence that something had happened before police arrived.
TPD responded around 1 a.m. Wednesday to a call about a man who had hit someone at 11th and Elgin, then put them in their car and drove away.
When officers arrived, they didn't find anyone there.
About an hour later, police were dispatched to 71st and South Mingo Road to investigate an auto-pedestrian hit and run accident.
That turned out to be an intoxicated person who had tripped over a curb.
He was loaded into an ambulance, then decided that he was not injured.
He got out of the ambulance and was given a ride home in a police car.
At about the same time, Tulsa police responded to a man down on the curb at 71st and South Yale.
We're told that he turned out to be another intoxicated person.
Then Tulsa police and fire responded along with EMSA to a one-vehicle on the Highway 169 northbound exit ramp to westbound I-244.
They arrived to find a slightly damaged car that was facing in the wrong direction, but no driver was around and apparently no one was hurt.
