Tulsa mom accused of murder in beating death of her 2-year-old son

A Tulsa mom now faces a murder charge in the beating death of her 2-year-old son.

20-year-old Andrea Smith called EMSA two weeks ago saying her child was unresponsive and had been sick for days.

Her son, Xavier Wade, died at the hospital.

Tulsa Police Cpl. Greg Smith tells KRMG are almost positive that the child's traumatic injury caused his death.

Smith says, "There was sufficient visible injuries to the child in the hospital that it was obviously not accidental."

Detectives believe Smith caused the child's internal bleeding and today arrested her for child abuse murder.

Investigators are still waiting for the medical examiner's report.
