Tulsa mental health expert believes bullying is nothing new

Bullying is nothing new according to one mental health expert.

Dr. Dale Doty with Christian Family Institute says, "It's always been around. It's always gone on. It's always produced some bad outcomes. There have always been suicides among teens where there was some kind of bullying."

Doty tells KRMG that some bullies are worse than others. Doty says, "I think there are always those who are more cruel than others."

The internet has given bullies another tool to torment. Doty says, "People find insidious uses of media, internet or whatever so it simply becomes a tool in the hands of terrorists or whatever."

Doty believes a loss of hope can be blamed for many bullying-related suicides.
