TULSA - Former Mayor Kathy Taylor is expected to explain to a downtown Tulsa crowd why she wants the job again.
The Democrat is slated to speak at the Tulsa Press Club Tuesday.
Since leaving office in early 2010 — citing a disdain for party politics and personal agendas — Taylor has completed a fellowship at Harvard University, practiced law and served as an education adviser to former Gov. Brad Henry.
Taylor's credited with restoring downtown, beefing up public safety and fixing streets during her one term as mayor before her abrupt exit from politics.
Republicans Dewey Bartlett, the current mayor, and former councilman Bill Christiansen round out the top three frontrunners in the race for the top spot.
The election is June 11.
