Tulsa man gets life without parole in murder case

Update:  We've learned a Tulsa man was sentenced to life without parole, in connection with a May of 2013 fatal shooting.

Court records show Andre Thomas was found guilty of shooting Ronald Harris in the head.

The victim's body was found near 61st and Peoria.

Records show a count of possessing a firearm as a felon was dismissed against Thomas.

Original:  Tulsa Police, along with the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force, have made an arrest in Saturday's homicide near 61st and Peoria.

Ronald Harris was shot and killed near 64th and Quaker around 3:30 Saturday morning.

Tulsa Police have spent the last four days interviewing potential suspects and witnesses in the area.

Today, TPD's Homicide Unit developed enough information to focus the investigation on 26-year-old Andre Thomas.

Thomas was arrested around 12:45 this afternoon near Apache and Lewis Ave.

Investigators tell KRMG that Thomas had just been released from Federal Custody on April 23rd.

Detectives don't have a clear cut motive but several people involved in the investigation have gang associations.
