A Tulsa man is arrested for attempted armed robbery before he's able to put his ski mask on or get out of the car.
Bixby police say the arrest of 22-year-old Tyler Joseph Burns was definitely unique.
"It's not very often law enforcement as a whole would get a tip prior to a crime occurring," Bixby police say.
Police received a tip stating Burns was going to rob the CVS store near 101st and Memorial on Thursday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 10p.m.
"We were able to successfully follow him to the location where the robbery was going to occur," police say. "We were then able to take him into custody without any further incident."
In addition to the ski mask, officers found a gun and white gloves inside the vehicle. An arrest report states the pistol wasn't loaded.
Members of the Tulsa Police Robbery Task Force joined Bixby officers with the arrest. Bixby PD say Burns is a person of interest for additional armed robberies in Tulsa.
Burns was taken into custody on counts of attempted armed robbery, driving under suspension, displaying a bogus tag and possession of a firearm under DOC supervision.
Bixby police say they wish every arrest was this easy.
"I think it's unique area wide and probably nationally," Bixby PD say.
