Tulsa man accused of beating 5 year old for refusing to take a nap

A man is accused of beating his 5 year old stepson with a belt to discipline him.

Justin Watt was charged nearly two weeks ago with child abuse by injury in Tulsa County and was arrested Wednesday on a warrant.

Police tell KRMG that the child’s aunt took him to the hospital because he had belt marks on his back and police were called to OSU Medical Center.

A police report says the marks were consistent with belt marks.

We’re told that the 24 year old told police he disciplined the boy with a belt because the child refused to take a nap.

Bond has been set at $25,000.
