Traffic is back to normal on North Peoria near Pine Street after a train derailment that happened early Thursday morning.
Officials with the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad reported the derailment happened just east of North Lansing Avenue and under Highway 75 at about 12:45 a.m.
Railroad crews were able to get the affected cars back on the track after about three hours.
No one was hurt.
Tulsa police received the report of a train derailment at North Peoria Avenue and East Latimer Street at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
We're told that automobile traffic was delayed in both directions of travel on North Peoria Avenue at the railroad crossing located near East Latimer Street.
Train crews were on the scene to assess the damage to the rail cars and the railroad, just east of North Lansing Avenue and under the State Highway 75 overpass.
There were no reports of injury.
We're told that the derailed train is the property of the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad, headquartered in Cherryvale, Kansas.
