Assistant District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler (R) is the first candidate to throw his hat in the ring to replace outgoing Tulsa County DA Tim Harris.
The 51-year-old has been a prosecutor in Oklahoma for 24 years, the last 11 in Tulsa County.
“I have been honored to serve the people of Oklahoma as a prosecutor for 24 years. I know what the job of District Attorney requires and I have the experience, the passion and the ability to do it,” Kunzweiler said. “For many years, Tulsa County citizens have been blessed to be represented by District Attorneys who were career prosecutors of unquestioned integrity, dedication and experience – individuals like Buddy Fallis, David Moss and Tim Harris. I want to serve the citizens of Tulsa County in the tradition of those men, who made decisions for the right reasons, based on the law and the facts and evidence before them.”
Kunzweiler has also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in districts which included Washington, Nowata, Osage and Pawnee Counties prior to coming to work in Tulsa County.
He graduated from the University Of Tulsa College Of Law in 1988.
