We're told a three-year old girl is hospitalized in serious condition after accidentally shooting herself.
Tulsa Police Captain Karen Tipler tells us the girl's family was in another room when the girl went into a bedroom about ten last night.
"Found the gun around the bed and accidentally pulled the trigger firing hitting herself in the upper thigh area."
Tipler tells us police child crisis detectives responded to the scene at 8957 East Marshall Street.
"We do have our child crisis detectives coming out to talk to the parents as well as going to the hospital to see after the welfare of the child."
Tipler also stressed the need for parents not to leave firearms within the reach of children.
"The parents have definitely learned a lesson about loaded firearms in the house," she said.
