Three states ban Thanksgiving shopping

As Black Friday begins to encroach on Thanksgiving and even the night before the states have put their foot down.
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Maine have all said enough is enough.
The states are taking advantage of old “blue laws” that are still on the books, despite being more than 200 years old.
Those laws say it’s illegal to shop on Thanksgiving or Christmas, putting an end to any Turkey day deals.
Retailers are complaining and trying to get the laws changed, saying it cuts into their holiday profits, but some who live there disagree.
"Thanksgiving is supposed to be about giving thanks for all you have," said a man who claims his family took part in the first feast.
He told the New York Times “I cringe to think what society is doing to itself.”
A Huffington Post/YouGov poll shows most of us are OK with no shopping on Thanksgiving.
Just 13% of those surveyed say they would like to see stores to stay open.
