The Heat is On

Tulsa’s lower than average June temperatures end on Sunday, June 09, 2013, according to both the National Weather Service and NewsOn6 meteorologist Dick Faurot.

So far this month, temperatures have been five degrees below normal for this time of year.   Temperatures in the mid to upper 90’s with high humidity are expected for the rest of the week.  Currently, there is less than a 10 percent chance for rain for the remainder of the week.

Last year’s temperatures were above normal, especially in May through August 2012.  May 2012 was the second warmest month recorded for Tulsa, with an average daily temperature of 74.3 degrees.

Tulsa had 38 days over 100 degrees for 2012, with 26 of those days coming in June and July.  June 2012 had six days over 100 degrees recorded, while July has 18 days of 100+ temperatures.
