TULSA, Okla. - QuikTrip fans in midtown Tulsa won't have as far to drive to fill up.
The convenience store chain is getting ready to build its newest location at I-44 and Harvard.
QT spokesman Mike Thornbrugh tells KRMG the location is one they've had their eyes on for a while. Thornbrugh says, "It's a site that QuikTrip has coveted for a long time and it finally became available."
One reason for the wait has been the I-44 widening project. Thornbrugh says, "It's been a long time coming. Obviously we had to be patient like everyone else waiting for the construction to take place."
Thornbrugh tells KRMG they hope to begin construction in September and open the new store in the spring of 2014.
Construction is nearing completion on another QT. That one is being built at 23rd and Southwest Boulevard on the west side.
