Texas woman indicted for sending ricin-laced letters to Obama, two others

Federal prosecutors say a Texas woman was indicted Friday on charges she sent ricin-laced letters to President Barack Obama and two other men in an attempt to frame her estranged husband.

Shannon Richardson, 35, faces two counts of mailing a threatening communication and one count of making a threat against the President of the United States.

She faces up to five years in prison on each of the counts.

Richardson, an actress by profession, has performed in minor roles in both television and films under the name Shannon Guess.

She reportedly has five children and is pregnant with a sixth.

Prosectors say she mailed the letters to President Obama, New York City Mayor Michael Bloombert, and Marke Glaze, the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

They believe the plot was designed to frame Nathan Richardson, the man she married in 2011 -- at least her third marriage, according to her soon-to-be ex-husband's attorney.

Richardson has reportedly admitted to sending the letters, but has claimed her husband forced her to do it.
