Teenager injured when sliding pickup hits tree

A teenage girl was injured when the pickup truck in which she was riding slid off a slick roadway and hit a tree.

We're told that East 11th Street, where it winds along east of 193rd East Avenue, was too much for the driver to navigate safely when the driver lost control eastbound and ran off the road and eventually hit a tree.

We're told that the accident happened about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The female teenaged driver and one of the female teenaged passengers was not hurt, thanks to seat belts and air bags.
But the girl sitting in the middle of the seat was smacked into the windshield by the impact.
She was taken to the hospital and should survive.
Tulsa Police Corporal Kyle Straight tells us the driver was arrested for DUI.
