Teenager beaten unconscious, raped in her west Tulsa home

A rape suspect who smelled like baby powder is wanted for attacking a 17-year old girl.

When the victim answered the door last Friday at her house near West 51st and South 33rd West Avenue, the suspect knocked her down and hit her in the head with a drinking glass until she blacked out.

When she regained consciousness, the man was gone.

Neighbor Brenda Teehee spoke with Tulsa Police Sex Crimes Sergeant Mark Mears.

"It could happen to any of us and we just need to be aware and be on the lookout," Teehee said.

Mears said that the suspect was skinny, six feet tall, mid 20's to early 30's years of age with brown hair and was wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

"He was very violent and angry, obviously, from the beginning."

Mears says the neighbors saw the skinny guy walking around, but didn't recognize him.

"We don't know if he had been targeting her or if he was looking to commit a burglary on an unoccupied residence and when she opened the door, it's a target of opportunity."

Mears says the suspect was in his mid-20's to early-30's with short brown hair and sunken cheeks.

Tulsa police say if you recognize the suspect in the sketch or have additional information that they can use, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
