Ted Nugent's wife arrested at airport for gun in luggage

Shemane Nugent’s attorney confirmed the Motor City Madman’s wife was arrested after she "completely forgot or never knew" she had the gun in her carry-on bag.

Attorney David Finn told the Dallas Morning News "she is very embarrassed. She's never been in this situation before."She has expressed remorse for any inconvenience for any public safety officials."

Nugent said she worked late the night before and was not paying enough attention because she was tired.

Authorities point out the gun would have been fine if it had been in the checked bags but not in a carry on.

Dallas-Ft. Worth Airport ranks second in the nation behind Atlanta’s Hartsfield for number of guns found so far this year and airport workers say they take it VERY seriously.

Nugent’s wife does have a concealed handgun license and officials say “the rest of it is working its way through our system of legal approval.”
