Tulsa, Okla. - Monday morning's triple-shooting is just the latest in a long list of crimes that have plagued the area around 61st and Peoria during the last couple of decades.
KRMG News asked the Tulsa Mayor's Office for a response to the issue and was told that a Public Safety Task Force that was initiated by Mayor Dewey Bartlett at the start of the year is studying high crime areas all over the city.
The Mayor is out of town, but Michelle Allen with the Mayor's Office addressed the question on his behalf.
"Basically they are going to look at different areas, different neighborhoods, different ways that maybe we can improve, maybe through neighborhood watch programs," she said.
She said the task force recommendations are still a work in progress, so she wasn't sure if there would be any other solutions.
"Those will be included in the steps that they'll be providing the City Council and the Mayor in December," she said.
