Tall tales contribute to a woman's arrest

A woman couldn't stop lying to police and ended up getting booked into jail on Saturday because of her tall tales.

Broken Arrow police say they were called out to a Walgreens located near 71st and 177th East Ave. for a possible larceny.

When officers arrived to the store, the woman they were looking for had just exited Walgreens.

It turned out, she didn't steal anything.

Had she not lied to officers, Shanna Lawrence might be out of jail right now.

Instead, Lawrence first fibbed about her name because she had warrants in Tulsa County.  Police say she gave her sister's name with a different birth date.

Then, she lied about not having anything on her.  Officers ended up finding meth under her shirt once they were back at the jail.

Lawrence was booked on counts of obstructing officers, carrying a CDS into a jail, and possession of a CDS.
