Tahlequah police interview driver responsible for traffic death

Tahlequah police have interviewed the driver who hit two boys, killing one of them on Highway 51 early Sunday.

The Tahlequah police chief tells us the boys were walking along the State Highway 51 bypass about four yesterday morning when the driver hit the boys.

One of the victims died, but the other boy was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

We're told the boys were walking against traffic in the eastbound lanes of the highway when they were struck.

Tahlequah police say a teenage girl told them that she was the driver of the vehicle that hit the victims, but she has not been arested.
