The man deputies say opened fire outside the Tulsa County courthouse last spring has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity or mental defect.
Deputies shot Andrew Dennehy on the courthouse plaza after he reportedly began firing into the air, then leveled the gun and opened fire on deputies as they rushed out of the courthouse.
One deputy was shot, and a bystander was hit by a stray bullet during the incident March 7.
Dennehy was found competent to stand trial during a hearing held last August.
Tulsa County District Judge Caputo scheduled a jury trial for October 7, 2013.
Dennehy remains jailed without bond.
He also faces charges related to an apparent attempted escape in which he's accused of assaulting another sheriff's deputy while still hospitalized.
