TULSA, Okla. — A man was hit and killed while trying to cross I-44 near Garnett Thursday afternoon.
Tulsa police officers had tried to make contact with the man around 2:45 p.m. when he took off on foot and ran toward the highway.
Officers said he crossed westbound traffic, jumped over the median and was hit by a car while trying to cross the eastbound lanes.
Officers later found the suspect to have a felony warrant.
All eastbound lanes of I-44 were closed during the investigation.
The driver of the car was not injured.
