Suspect hides in bush 100 feet from deputies' command post

Tulsa County Sheriff's Deputies were tipped off that a suspect they were looking for was in a motel room near 34th and Memorial.

Deputies arrived on scene around noon and tried to apprehend the suspect. He took off on foot.

A command post was set up in the Drysdale's parking lot and deputies called for reinforcements to help set up a perimeter.

Shortly after, Tulsa Technology Center's campus was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

KRMG reporter Chris Cordt was with deputies at the command post when shouts of 'get down, get down' rang out.

Deputies had located their suspect hiding in a bush on the other side of the parking lot. He was apprehended without incident.

As the now-handcuffed suspect was being walked to a waiting cruiser, he spoke to KRMG. The suspect said, "I bet you've never seen a n***** run that fast."

Deputies tell KRMG that the suspect had several outstanding warrants.
