Oklahoma City, Okla. - More than 32,000 insurance claims have been paid out by the insurance industry as a result of all the recent storms in Oklahoma.
"That includes 13,938 homeowners claims, 17,492 auto claims, 724 commercial property and casualty claims," said State Insurance Commissioner John Doak.
The claims total roughly $250 million, and Doak says they're just getting started.
"We do envision this number continuing to climb, especially with the widespread hail damage," Doak said.
Even as big as this disaster has been, Doak says the insurance industry can withstand up to $30 billion in claims per year.
